Permanent Residency
Emory sponsors certain employees for employment-based permanent residency. It is an employer-driven process, so there must be a business need and commitment from the hiring department to sponsor permanent residency for their scholar. Permanent residents are also commonly referred to as immigrants or green card holders, who are legally granted the privilege of residing and working permanently in the United States.
