On-Campus SSA Appointments
ISSS is happy to host the Social Security Administration (SSA) on campus to take applications for Social Security number (SSN) cards. Find complete information about the on-campus SSA Day here: https://isss.emory.edu/life-in-the-us/social-security-numbers
- Register for an On-Campus SSA Appointment here:
- August 22nd morning block (9:00 - 11:45 am): Register here
- August 22nd afternoon block (1:00 - 3:45 pm): Register here
A student can only sign up for an on-campus Social Security appointment if they:
- will receive a stipend from Emory based on services the student is providing;
- have an on-campus job; or
- need a Social Security letter of ineligibility (denial letter) to apply for a Georgia driver's license/state ID or ITIN.
*Before the appointment, a student must complete the Online Service To Obtain a Social Security Number Card to register with the Social Security Administration (SSA).- Complete the online registration form to provide the SSA with the student's biographical information and upload copies of their documents.
- Do not proceed to the appointment selection screens.
- Once the student has completed the online registration, a code will appear.
- The student should take a picture/screenshot of the code or print the confirmation page and bring it to their appointment.
- Complete, print and sign SS-5 (Application for a Social Security Card).
- Bring the signed SS-5 form and other required documents (including originals and photocopies) to the appointment.
