Biography
As the Front Desk Coordinator for Emory ISSS, Shelby Jones assists international students and scholars by managing inquiries, triaging in-person and virtual visits, overseeing front desk operations, and processing service requests. Shelby is often the first point of contact for visitors and is dedicated to providing a welcoming and supportive experience for Emory’s international community.
Shelby graduated from Oglethorpe University with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies. A native of Roswell, Georgia, Shelby remains closely connected to the Atlanta area while embracing a global perspective through cultural exchange and exploration. During her undergraduate studies, Shelby studied abroad in Florence, Italy at Florence University of the Arts, an experience that further strengthened her interest in international education and intercultural engagement.
While at Oglethorpe, Shelby was a selected member of the Honors Program, completed an undergraduate thesis while abroad, and actively participated in intercultural exchange organizations and clubs on campus. Prior to joining Emory ISSS, Shelby worked as a Study Abroad Marketing and Communications Assistant at Oglethorpe University and as a Customer Service Specialist with a travel host agency.
During her free time, Shelby enjoys cooking, painting, watching sports, and spending time with family and friends.
