Biography

As Assistant Vice Provost, Shinsaeng (Shinn) Ko leads a team of dedicated professionals who serve Emory’s global community which includes international students, scholars, and hosting departments.  

International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) aspires to be a comprehensive resource for Emory University’s diverse, vibrant international community through advocacy, collaboration, education, intercultural competency and leadership training, programming, policy consultation, and immigration expertise.

Shinn also serves as part of the senior leadership team for the Emory Global Engagement (EGE).

Shinn is actively involved in several international education associations, including NAFSA: Association of International Educators. She has held numerous leadership roles, notably being elected twice to serve a total of six years as Vice President for Professional Development and Engagement on the NAFSA Board of Directors.

Shinn came to Emory in the fall of 2014 from the University of Pennsylvania.
