Biography
As Assistant Vice Provost, Shinsaeng (Shinn) Ko leads a team of dedicated professionals who serve Emory’s global community which includes international students, scholars, and hosting departments.
International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) aspires to be a comprehensive resource for Emory University’s diverse, vibrant international community through advocacy, collaboration, education, intercultural competency and leadership training, programming, policy consultation, and immigration expertise.
Shinn also serves as part of the senior leadership team for the Office of Global Strategy and Initiatives (GSI).
Shinn is active in a number of international education associations, such as NAFSA: Association of International Educators, where she has served in a variety of regional and national leadership roles. Shinn is currently on the NAFSA Board of Directors and serves as Vice President for Professional Development and Engagement.
Shinn came to Emory in the fall of 2014 from the University of Pennsylvania, where she served as senior associate director of its ISSS office.
