Biography
In her role as Senior Associate Director, Christy works with international students, scholars, and administrators regarding federal immigration and employment regulations, Emory resources, and related matters.
Christy serves as the Principal Designated School Official (PDSO) for Emory’s F-1 Program.
Prior to starting at Emory, Christy worked as the Assistant Director of International Student & Scholar Services at Georgia Tech, and at the University of Toledo as the Regulatory Coordinator of ISSS. Christy began her career as a study abroad advisor at Bowling Green State University, but quickly shifted functional areas to focus on regulatory practice and international student and scholar support.
Originally from St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin, Christy has slowly moved her way to the South in an attempt to avoid snow and freezing temps, starting in Cincinnati, Ohio where she earned her B.A. in International Affairs at Xavier University, followed by her Master’s degree in Higher Education from Bowling Green State University (OH).
Although Christy grew up with ice hockey and ice fishing, she especially enjoys Atlanta for its warm weather, beautiful parks, food scene, and cultural vibrancy. In her free time, Christy enjoys watching and playing sports, baking, and exploring the city with her family.
