In the United States, children between the ages of 5 and 16 are required to attend school. You do not need to pay tuition to enroll your child in public schools, but there may be other school fees. The public school that your child will attend depends on where you live.

Private schools are also available, but they charge tuition.

In order to register your child in school, you will need their:

• Birth certificate
• School records or transcripts
• Proof of immunization from a physician noting the day, month, and year of each immunization
