Community Gathering for Support and Response

The Emory community is grieving with those impacted by the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria that have taken and harmed so many lives. All are welcome to gather in community for a time of sharing remarks, prayers, and resources for support and action. Refreshments will follow. 2/10/2023: The following email message was sent to Emory international students and scholars from the areas affect by the tragic earthquake that occurred in eastern Turkey and nothern Syria. 

To international students (F-1 and J-1) and scholars (J-1, H-1B, TN, O-1, and E-3):

We would like to follow up with you regarding our previous message sent out on Monday. We know that this has been a difficult week as more information has become known regarding the scope of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria.

The Emory community is grieving with those impacted by this tragedy that has taken and harmed so many lives. We would like to invite you to a community gathering next Wednesday, February 15, for a time of sharing remarks, prayers, and resources for support and action. All are welcome. Please see the details below.

Turkey and Syria Earthquake: Community Gathering for Support and Response

This event is sponsored by the Office of Spiritual and Religious Life with Campus Life, Counseling and Psychological Services, the Faculty Staff Assistance Program, the Graduate Muslim Student Council, ISSS, the Department of Middle Eastern and South Asian Studies, and the Muslim Students Association. Refreshments will follow.

ISSS is here to support you in whatever way we can during this difficult time. Please do not hesitate to contact your ISSS advisor. Additionally, Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) and the Office of Spiritual and Religious Life have staff and programs to support the Emory community.
