Tragedy in South Korea
10/31/2022: The following email messages were sent to Emory international students and scholars from South Korea in response to the Halloween event crowd surge that occurred in Itaewon.
To South Korean Students (F-1 and J-1):
We in ISSS are deeply saddened by the tragic events that occurred in Seoul over the weekend. Our hearts go out to all those who have been affected.
ISSS has been able to confirm the safety of all those who have reported their travel to South Korea to our office. However, if you know of any students or scholars from Emory who were traveling in this area, please let us know so that we can verify that they are safe.
ISSS is here to support you and connect you with campus resources during this difficult time. Please do not hesitate to contact your ISSS advisor. Additionally, Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) and the Office of Spiritual and Religious Life have staff and programs to support the Emory community.
