State Department technical problems causing visa delays

June 17, 2015—The Bureau of Consular Affairs is experiencing technical problems with its overseas visa systems, which has caused delays in printing visas and the rescheduling of some visa interviews. The issue is not specific to any particular country or visa category.

If you interviewed for a US visa on or after June 9, you will receive your passport and visa when the technical problems are resolved. The State Department expects to begin issuing visas again next week, but the backlog means you might not receive your visa for an additional 2 weeks.
