DS-2019 or I-797

A DS-2019 for J-1 Exchange Visitors certifies that you meet the requirements of your program and have the necessary financial resources for your stay in the US. An I-797 approval notice indicates that USCIS has approved a petition for H-1B, O-1, or TN status. You will use one of these documents along with your visa to enter the US.

Keep your DS-2019 or I-797 up to date, and let your ISSS advisor know about any changes.
