Updating Your Contact Info

As an international student, you'll need to update your US phone number, US and permanent home country addresses, and primary email address within 10 calendar days of any change. 

You might fall into more than one category, so be sure to follow the instructions for each situation that applies to you. 

If you are... You should...
Enrolled in classes at Emory

Log in to OPUS to update your physical address, email address, and your local and/or foreign phone number. 

If you live on campus, use your Emory PO box as your local address, and make sure your dormitory address is listed correctly. If it's not correct, contact Housing at housing@emory.edu or 404.727.7631 to have them fix it in the system.

Please note: You must enter your phone number types as "Local" (US phone numbers) and "Permanent" (foreign phone numbers) for us to receive the information. Phone numbers entered as "Mobile" will not be sent to us for reporting. Even if you are reporting a mobile number, please add it as a "Local" or "Permanent" number as well to be sure we receive the information.

A J-1 scholar not in the Emory HR system Log in to ISSS Link and fill out the US Address/Email/Phone Update e-form, and email Mary Andrews in the controller's office with your new address.
In H-1B, O-1, TN, or PR status Fill out the AR-11 Change of Address Card and submit it to US Citizenship and Immigration Services.
None of the above Email ISSS.

If you have any J-2 dependents in the US, please report any changes in their contact information in ISSS Link under J-1 Scholar Services > Dependents.

Any changes in the following information should be reported within 10 calendar days:

  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Residential address (if not living with the J-1)

If your dependents are not in J-2 status, you don't need to do this.
