Sonia Parra Zuña

As business manager, Sonia supports the Office of Global Strategy & Initiatives, the Halle Institute, and International Student & Scholar Services. Previously she worked in senior financial roles at Emory’s School of Medicine in the Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences and the Department of Emergency Medicine. During her career at Emory she has received numerous professional awards, including the 2012 Rising Star Leadership Development Scholarship from the School of Medicine, the 2012 Relational Mentoring Award from the President's Commission on the Status of Women, and the 2009 President's Commission on Race and Ethnicity grant award.
Prior to Emory, Sonia worked for 5 years at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) managing budgets and operations.
She holds an MBA from Goizueta Business School, an MA in Communication and Urban Studies from Michigan State University, and a BS in business management from Cornell University. She also studied at the Universidade de Pernambuco in Recife, Brazil.
