Biography

In his role as Senior Associate Director for Client Services, Charlie oversees client services and manages the Sunapsis/ISSS Link system, including maintenance and troubleshooting. His role also includes ensuring DHS regulatory compliance and government reporting by managing alert systems in Sunapsis and SEVIS. Charlie manages and serves as the primary point of contact for I-20 issuance for newly admitted students and is responsible for data management for ISSS.

Charlie ensures ISSS is innovative in using technology to best serve all international students, scholars, and their hosting/hiring departments. Charlie also sees international students and scholars during walk-in advising.

Charlie has been an international student himself he completed his undergraduate work at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. He has worked in International Education for over 10 years. Charlie began as an ESL instructor in the Atlanta area before transitioning to the International Student Advisor role. He moved to higher education in 2011 when he became an International Student and Scholar Advisor at Georgia Tech, where he remained until early 2018. Charlie was Chair of the Georgia Association of International Educators in 2013-14 and has been a Trainer in NAFSA’s Trainer Corps since 2014. In 2017, he earned a Master of Science in International Affairs from Georgia Tech.

Charlie currently serves on the Emory University Senate Library Policy committee.

Charlie was selected for the Fulbright International Educators Award for South Korea for 2023.

When not working, Charlie prefers spending time with his wife and daughters, reading, traveling, and cooking.
